Try Stamping on Tuesday--Holiday Tags

Ok so I know it is Wednesday--I completely forgot about this yesterday.  Since we went to posting every other week I have a hard time remembering, lol.  Go figure, stinks to get old!  Anyway, we have a special surprise for you for the next two weeks.  The team has been asked to make holiday tags and provide tutorials on each and every blog.  Now I am not a huge tag fan so mine is really pretty simple but there are some AMAZING samples from the rest of the team!  You really need to take some time to check them out  HERE

For my tag I decided to make the actual tag by using the smallest die in the envelope liner dies.

Envelope Liners Framelits Dies
  Envelope Liners Framelits Dies
Price: $26.95

The base of the tag is Whisper White and I used the Snow Day stamp set.  I began by stamping the snowflake randomly using versamark ink.  Then I used my aquapainter to paint the entire tag with Island Indigo Ink from the top of the pad and some alcohol.  You can not see the light resist that was created but it is pretty in real life.  Next I stamped the snowflake again in Island Indigo ink randomly over the top of that so that there is a feel of depth.  Finally I stamped the snow man on the tag then three more times on scrap Whisper White using Sahara Sand ink.  I only stamped the arms on the first one that was on the tag.  Then I cut out the body of the extra snowmen and used dimensionals to raise each layer up so that the snowman is really popped off the tag and dimensional--finish by adding the warm wishes sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and add some ribbon to the top.  Easy peezy~ don't forget to check out the rest of the team's samples--they are not as basic as mine!

Hope you have a fabulous  Thanksgiving (my American friends)

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 290

Monday already!?  Funny how fast the days go by--especially the weekend!  Hope yours was great.  I have a really cool sketch for you to try this week.  I am loving all the samples so far!  Here is the sketch....

And my sample--I am still playing with the Santa's List stamp set.  Although I generally send more Christian Christmas cards I have been having a lot of fun playing with this stamp set.  It is really easy to work with--don't forget about my tutorial that is on the top right hand side of my side bar--it has six cards made with this same set!  Check it out HERE.  But let's get back to this week's card...

One of the things I really like about this set is that it looks good both colored in and left plain.  The browns on this card make it have a kind of vintage feel.  As I have been doing on all my Christmas cards this year--there is no elements to cause extra postage!

Stamps: Santa's List
Paper: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and the Season of Style dsp
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Other: nestibilities, corner rounder

Now let's check out what the fabulous design team has done with the sketch...........

Punch Art for Christmas

For many years I have seen different versions of these darling elf shoes and always wanted to try it out but was too stinky lazy--to be honest--but it was crazy easy and fast so I am glad I finally took the time to play--so cute too!  This was created for the LNS challenge to use your punches!

The shoe shape itself is made with the top note die--you get two sets of shoes with one diecut--each shoe is 1/4 of the die.  After cutting the die in half from point to point on the long end you will use your 1 3/8" circle punch to punch the curve in the toe and then the1 inch circle punch for the leg holes. Some quick photos below may help.

Hope you have a great day!  The sun is shinning -- although it is cold it makes it seem much nicer--off for a walk.

Try Stamping on Tuesday!

Could not get this to post yesterday?  Had to start all over today so here it is.  I hope you guys chose to play along with us on the Try Stamping on Tuesday blog.  This weeks sketch is a fun one and the extra twist is to make the tag removable.

Now just to be honest, I generally do not like this one sided sketches as I can never get them to look right to me, lol. But that don't stop me from playing long.  Since there was so much open space I decided to use some dp with a design that would go with the card--meaning a bunch of numbers would go with a birthday card right?!

So here you have it, from a piece of paper with numbers to a birthday card with a removable tag! I think it is kind of fun.

Stamps: Sketched Birthday, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Paper: Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, Crisp Cantaloupe, Very Vanilla, SoHo Subway DP
Ink: Early Espresso, Island Indigo
Other: markers, circle framelits. Bitty Banners Framelits, staples, twine

Thanks for stopping by today.
