Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 219 (TSSC219)

Good Monday Morning to you!  I am so glad you stopped by to view the new sketch for the week.  And I certainly hope you find time to play along, it is a fun one (they are ALL fun).  Remember you have a full weed to play along so there is lots of time.  Here is this week's sketch...

And my first sample.....

I have been trying to use some of the stamps that are retiring that I have not used in a while.  This is such a beautiful set (Fifth Avenue Floral), I really love the rose in the set but had never even used the lily??  Wonder why they are one of my favorite flowers??  I used my color coach for the combo--I really like it.  Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight, and Tangerine Tango--I am going to miss the Concord Crush color.

Can't wait to see your sample.  Remember to link to the DIRECT post on your blog--not the home page.   If you add the code to your blog while in HTML mode you can have your readers play along too--right from your blog!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Happy Monday.

Go Fly a Kite.

One of the perks of being a demonstrator is the free sets we get for certain things throughout the year. This Gnome set was another set I earned for free but have not used.  So I figure I better use it now, I combined it with the kite set in the Occasions mini--Send me Soaring.  This was a fun card to make.

Stamps: Send me Soaring, Gnome Sweet Gnome
Paper: Pear Pizazz, Pool Party, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Lucky Limade, Marina Mist
Other Baker's twine markers, SAB designer paper

Happy Today!

So Bear-y cute!

I am still on a baby card kick?! Funny since I am not really sure I can think of anyone having a baby right now. None the less, I am making baby cards. This one is the result of wanting to use this cute little bear at least once before he retired! I wasn't sure what to do with him so I put him on the chair from the Cherish Friendship stamp set. Not sure why I could not get a good picture of this one.  Weird how you do the same thing with each card and some turn out great and others--well NOT so great!  I may have to finally make one of those light boxes!

Stamps: Cherish Friendship, Bear Hugs, Tiny Tags
Paper: Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Brown
Other: markers, brads, wide white ribbon, Blushing Bride pleated ribbon, bakers twine, tag punch.

TGIF!  I am off to bed--my poor kitty is in bed after just getting home this morning from being spayed and de-clawed.   The poor thing--she is really hating that cone thing she has to wear.  I off to give her a break from the cone.

Hanging out!

Here is another one of those cards that seem to be on EVERYONE's  blogs.  I think the idea is just adorable.  I kept mine super simple so I could add it to Mom's pile of cards, she don't like to pay extra postage, lol!  The little baby outfits are made from the owl punch.  I outlined them with a black marker to make them pop just a bit more.  The clouds are from the You Send Me Soaring set.  I used the Edgelits Die to create the grass.  The colors of the card are pool party and Pear Pizazz.

Thanks so much for popping in to visit today!

Pretty in Pink!

I am still playing around with the Latenightstamper's challenge to CASE a card from Pinterest. I have seen these cards just about everywhere and can't for the life of me figure out who was the first to do it. But none the less it is just adorable. Don't you agree.

I love those darling pink buttons which I got for free during SAB and the little images are from the Packed for Baby set that I also go for free for some challenge or something we did with SU--It is great to be a demo!  I also used the tiny tags stamp set for the middle of the drawers, and the Bordering on Romance stamp set for the flowers on the bottom--you may have to enlarge to see those.

Hope you are having a great day!  The sun is shinning here so that makes me happy--I opened all the blinds, fixed a few screens that were torn, cleaned, did laundry and now I am off to work out--then to STAMP!  Yea!  Happy Day!

Put it in your pocket!

This week on Latenightstampers we are having fun on Pinterest. We are picking cards from Pinterest to CASE. I have tons of samples in my CASE board but never do anything with them--go figure.  So the first card I picked was the cutest pair of overalls.  And they were really simple to make.  If you have an account on Pinterest you can view the original HERE.

I used Marina Mist card stock and my Marina Mist Ink pad.  I just rubbed the open ink pad on the card front in an up and down motion, then did it again side to side to give it the textured look--like denim.  The card it self started as a regular sized card that opens from bottom to top.  I cut a rectangle out of the top of the card removing the center part of the fold.  Then I cut a triangle from the bottom.  Next I went around the whole card with my white gel pen.  Added a pocket from another piece of Marina Mist scrap that also was inked up in both directions.  I attached the pocket only on the sides and bottom so that I would be able to put the money in the pocket.  Finally I cut to strips to make the straps, rounded the bottom of the strips--and attached them with dimensionals only under the section that has the buttons.  The top of the strips are attached directly to the card without dimensionals..  And the buttons were made with the button embosslet!  So fun and easy and just too stinkin cute!

Hope you are having a fabulous week--it is cold and windy and snowy here so I am all bundled up and keeping warm.

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 218 (TSSC218)

Happy Monday--or late Sunday?! Thanks so much for stopping by. I really hope you will be able to find time to play along this week! Remember you have the whole week to play along.  I actully have three samples for you this week.  ( I actully cheated a bit--this sketch was used for last week's challenge on Latenightstamper's so I just chose not to share them on here with you until now).  I really enjoyed playing with this sketch, I hope you will too!

On all three on my cards I used stamp sets that will be retiring.  If you haven't seen the list of retiring stamps yet--you can view them by clicking the link at the top left hand side of my blog.  You will actually see the images of all the retiring sets.  Let me know if there is anything you need.
The first two cards are going to be part of a set of cards for my son's teacher.

This last card was just trying to use up some retiring paper and my beloved butterflies--so sad they are retiring.

Your turn! Can't wait to see what you create--come on back and add it to the linky blog hop below! If you add the code to your blog while in HTML mode you can have your readers play along too--right from your blog!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Just having some fun!

There are many times as a demonstrator that we earn stamp sets for free and sometimes we get to pick which ones we want and other times we get what we get. This is an example of get what we get...the Gnome stamp set was awarded to us a while ago and I have yet to use it--actually I set it aside and forgot about it. But it pop it's little head out the other day and begged to be used so I combined it with the Send me Soaring set to make this cute card--at least I think it is cute!

This is my favorite saying from the set--seems there are many times I use this for cards for friend struggling with life--and you know we all do that from time to time.  That is what keeps life interesting!

Stamps: Send Me Soaring, Gnome Sweet Gnome
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Marina Mist, Basic Black Pear Pizzazz
Other: markers, twine

TGIF!  I am ready for the weekend!

Top Three for sketch challenge 215!

Sorry  I am running so late.  I have been on a major spring cleaning kick and each time I took time to come on and post I could not get the linky tool option to work!  So I would go clean another thing and come back and try again.  I finally decided it was getting crazy late and I would have to find a way around and that is exactly what I did. Not sure why the links are not showing up at the moment on my blog but we are carrying on as if everything is normal--whatever normal is, lol!  So here are my top three picks for last week's sketch....as always, if you click on the snippet you will be brought to the creator's blog and the original post containing any details you may want/need! Be nice and leave them a comment!.

Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge 215 (TSSC215)

Happy Monday!  I had a great week last week visiting with my sister and spending time with my family!  So nice to all get together.  We are all so busy and live a bit away from each other--especially the one in Texas!-so it is always great to get together.  So thankful for that!  So here we are again on Monday which of course means time for a new sketch challenge.  This week I have a fun one for you.  I was not really sure where I was going with it when I first looked at it--so I looked to this week's Latenightstamper's challenge to guide me.  This week on Latenightstampers  we are making Spring Cards--what makes you think of spring?  Flowers, colors, butterflies, kites??? The ideas are endless. I went with color, flowers, and butterflies.  I am never good at making choices, lol.  Anyway, here is the sketch....

And my Springy sample....

I have so much designer paper and don't EVER finish an entire pack, not EVER.  So you can image the supply I have from old retired paper--yea, your close but double your thought and you will be closer. The paper I used on this card is a brand new pack--go figure.  It is the twitterpated pack from the Occasions mini.  I combined it with the Bordering on Romance set.

Stamps: Bordering on Romance, Blessings from Heaven
Paper: Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Twitterpated paper pack
Ink: Basic Black, Baja Breeze
Other: markers, butterfly embosslit, corner rounder, white gel pen.

Hope you find time to play along this week.
Mary Jo
Your turn....
